• Canoe Tour : We transport you to the Catlins lake. From there you paddle your way back to outside the hostel visiting many sites of flora and fauna along the way. 2-3 hours. $40 per person. For more details see Canoe Hire.
  

• Catlins River Walk : This is one of the the longest walks in The Catlins. It is a one way track so walkers need to be dropped off at one end and picked up at the other. Approx. walking time one way is 5 hours, is self-guided and well marked. You will encounter untouched Silver Beech forest along with many bird species including the rare Mohua or Yellowhead. Option 1 - Drop your car off at one end, Surat Bay Lodge Tours then takes you to the other end to commence the walk. Drive distance of over 60kms. $30 per person. (Min 2 persons). Option 2 -Surat Bay Lodge Tours takes you to one end, then picks you up at the other end, 5 hours later. Drive distance of over 100kms. $60 per person. (Min 2 persons).
